Wisdom Teeth Removal- How do I know my blood clot is still there?

I had my four wisdom teeth removed yesterday, and I am somewhat paranoid regarding the blood clots.

Is there any way I would know if the blood clot was lost? Are there any immediate effects? How would it feel?
I brushed my teeth, but only the front, and cleaned the front of my mouth with some tea.

I also woke up with blood on my chin. So that is why I am so worried. I did receive stitches, though, but could they have broken?
I also have a strange odor coming from my mouth. My mother said it is from not eating anything. Is that normal with wisdom teeth removal?

And can the salt water touch my sockets when I rinse out my mouth?

How long after a wisdom tooth removal should the blood clot dissolve?

I had a non-impacted lower wisdom tooth removed yesterday afternoon and was just wondering how soon (or long) the blood clot should dissolve.
Thanks, Dr Nate. Yes, that is exactly what I wanted to know. I’m following all post-op instructions and I know the blood clot is my friend (repeated many times!). I just wasn’t sure how long this friend would be visiting.

When can I stop worrying about the blood clot after wisdom teeth removal?

I got my bottom left wisdom tooth pulled last Tuesday, a week from today. The dentist didn’t give me a plastic syringe to get any food out, so it’s hard to do that and I’m worried about the blood clot. I don’t think it’s at risk to come out, but I just want to make sure.
Thank you!

Make-up removal????????

I put on some black make-up around my eye and I can’t get it off. Also I put some fake blood on my wrist and my skin looks like its stained.
Is there any way to get the make-up off?
I scrubed at it and that didn’t seem to work. I carefully used some soap and scrubed at the make-up, and it helped but there still some there.
Please help. Thanks!

Macular pucker removal and repositioning of decentered IOL

Macular pucker surgery using 25 gauge small incision “no stitch” system and repositioning of decentered intraocular lens, This 67 year old white male has noticed decreased vision in his left eye for one year. He had a cataract surgery one year ago. His vision did not improve. It looked like he had a thumbprint in front of his lens. Then aout six months ago he noticed his vision becoming more foggy. He is diabetic for 18 years and has high cholesterol, high blood pressure and heart disease. He was recently diagnosed with glaucoma and started on a pressure lowering eye drop. His visual acuity on presentaiton was 20/50 in each eye. His intraocular lens was displaced superiorly in each eye. In the left eye the intraocular lens was displaced enough so that the edge of the lens was at the visual axis. His left eye also had a macular pucker. He also had optic nerve cupping in each eye.

Smoking 6 days after wisdom teeth removal.?

So i had 4 of my wisdom teeth removed on friday morning (March 26) and the nurse has told me to lay off smoknig for the first 2-3 days and i did. so today after my checkup , the dentist said i have one small infection so he gave me some more antibiotics. Also last night i had a slight fever that i fixed with benylin all in one. I had 1 capsule of amoxicillin antibiotics left from the week before so when i got home at around 5 oclock today, i took . 1 capsule of amoxicillin, 2 capsules of benylin all in one and 1 capsule of teh new prescribed antibiotic to fix the infection (Clindamycin HCl), so 4 capsules in total. before i took teh capsule, i smoked one cigarette… not even one .. more like 3/4 of a cigarette cause i was fiending since i havent smoked for 6 days. and i took a nap afterwards. now i just woke up at 6:30 and i have a fever again. Could this be from teh infection , too many pills or the smoking? also i opened my mouth and found that my molars have black/brown stains on them (i havent been able to clean my molars for the past 3 days since i couldnt open my mouth but ive been rinsing with water) So to simplify that . i had a fever but it went away, i went to teh dentist, found out i had an infection , had a cigarette, had 4 pills, went to sleep , woke up with a fever. found black stains on my molars that im not sure if they were from smoknig or from blood since i havent been looking at my molars for the past 3-4 days. So could this fever im getting be from smoking one cigarette, too many pills, or the infection? and also the stains … are they from the blood or smoking? casue teh stains are only on my molars and not my front teeth and theyre only in the little cracks on top of ur molars and in between the teeth. i managed to rinse out the ones in between the teeth but cant get rid of the ones in the little cracks in the molars. SO ONCE AGAIN LOL ! sorry , id just like to know if the fevers from smoking one cigarette, too many pills, or infection, also my throat hurts == ” i might haev a throat infection since i get those very frequently. AND ALSO id like to know if the stains are from blood or from teh cigarette. any help would be helpful … oh p.s. my teeth arent stained i dont have smokers teeth == ” oh and id like response asap so i know to whether call my doctor or my dentist or if this is cause of smoking ==” or if i should just go to the emergency room. or if this will go away cause i just smoked one cigarette and i should just go to sleep and leave it .

Wisdom Teeth Removal stains on teeth?

I have these reddish brown stains on my teeth after getting my wisdom teeth pulled. It has been one day so far. Is this from the blood or something? I can’t figure out what it is and it is worrying me. Will it come off?

Also, I have been trying to brush my teeth. I dab a very small amount of toothpaste on my toothbrush and lightly brush my teeth avoiding the places where my wisdom teeth were removed. To rinse, I let the water fall out of my mouth by just opening it and swallowing whatever else is left in my mouth. Can this cause dry socket? Thanks ahead of time.
Sorry, might have not been specific enough. The stains are on my teeth near the extraction site. Is it dried blood?

Impacted Wisdom teeth removal by The Gentle Dentist (some surgery shown)

At www.thegentledentist.com we provide all services in general, implant, cosmetic, and sedation dentistry. Wisdom teeth or third molars usually need to be removed if there is not enough room in the mouth for them to erupt. There are a couple of necessary steps needed to determine if wisdom teeth need to be extracted or if there is a possibility there will be enough room in the mouth for them to erupt and be functional teeth. • A panorex x-ray will show the entire jaw including the sinuses, nerve location, jaw joint and teeth position. This is an important xray used to see the “big picture” where these vital structures are and it exposes the shape of the roots of wisdom teeth. • A dental exam by Dr. Antolak is needed to see how much room is in the actual oral cavity. If it is determined that the wisdom teeth need to be removed then there are options on how the patient is treated. Either local anesthetic is used alone or is used with Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or conscious sedation. In this video our patient had only local anesthetic used which allowed him to function normally after the procedure. Only pressure is felt during the procedure but no sharp or dull pain is felt. As you can see there is great attention to detail in reference to the patient’s level of comfort by The Gentle Dentist and team. During the procedure Dr. Antolak needed to gain access to the teeth and this required some removal of bone that was lying over the impacted teeth. After the tooth is removed
