What are some effective high blood pressure medications?

I have untreated high blood pressure (usually around 144/99). I am taking my blood pressure each day to monitor the situation and establish what level I am at. I know I need to go on medication, but I want a medication that will have few side effects. I am particularly concerned about sexual side effects and I would still like to be able to have a couple drinks now and again.

What are some possible causes for low white blood cell count in cats?

My cat had her yearly vaccinations and the blood work came back low white blood cell count. She’s an INDOOR cat, always up to date on her shots, and has never been sick. My vet did blood work to check for leukemia, which came back negative. She has absolutely NO symptoms, hasn’t lost any weight, and eats & drinks fine. She’s 8 yrs old & spayed. After the first bloodwork, my vet put her on clavamox for 10 days which raised the count, but now that she’s off clavamox, the count has fallen. Any info. or input?

Some salt consumption deemed good for blood pressure

Some salt consumption deemed good for blood pressure
An increased intake of ‘good’ potassium salts could contribute significantly to improving blood pressure at the population level. The favorable effect brought about by potassium is even estimated to be comparable with the blood pressure reduction achievable by halving the intake of ‘bad’ sodium salts (mostly from table salt). Those are the conclusions drawn by Linda van Mierlo and her colleagues …

What are some household products that can be used for First Aid?

Obviously, every person in ahome should be able to dial the Emergency Number with clear instructions and a First Aid kit in homes is always a good idea, but what natural household products can be used for First Aid?

I know pepper can be used for cuts, aloe for burns (after it’s been under running cold water for at least 10 minutes) but are there more?
Hazel: All the sites I’ve read about burn care have said: ” do NOT put butter or salt containing substances on burns.”

What are some reasons a Doctor would check my blood count?

My Doctor had my blood drawn today. He said it was to check my blood count. I take Provigile and he said the medication can cause low blood count. I am suspicious that he is checking for cancer. Am I right to be suspicious?

Impacted Wisdom teeth removal by The Gentle Dentist (some surgery shown)

At www.thegentledentist.com we provide all services in general, implant, cosmetic, and sedation dentistry. Wisdom teeth or third molars usually need to be removed if there is not enough room in the mouth for them to erupt. There are a couple of necessary steps needed to determine if wisdom teeth need to be extracted or if there is a possibility there will be enough room in the mouth for them to erupt and be functional teeth. • A panorex x-ray will show the entire jaw including the sinuses, nerve location, jaw joint and teeth position. This is an important xray used to see the “big picture” where these vital structures are and it exposes the shape of the roots of wisdom teeth. • A dental exam by Dr. Antolak is needed to see how much room is in the actual oral cavity. If it is determined that the wisdom teeth need to be removed then there are options on how the patient is treated. Either local anesthetic is used alone or is used with Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or conscious sedation. In this video our patient had only local anesthetic used which allowed him to function normally after the procedure. Only pressure is felt during the procedure but no sharp or dull pain is felt. As you can see there is great attention to detail in reference to the patient’s level of comfort by The Gentle Dentist and team. During the procedure Dr. Antolak needed to gain access to the teeth and this required some removal of bone that was lying over the impacted teeth. After the tooth is removed
