What can cause protein in urine?
I had 2+ on a urine test and my blood pressure is higher then usual. I’m 38 weeks pregnant and I know that these are symptoms of preeclampsia. What I’m looking for are non-obvious reasons for protein to be in urine + blood pressure to rise. I have heard caffeine can make blood pressure go up. Anything else anyone can think of? Can eating a lot of protein cause protein in urine?
Don’t tell me to go to the doctor because I did. I’m working with my doctor. I just want more opinions. =)

Hi
I’m 38 weeks pregnant Thursday and have been told by GP today that i have a lot of “White Cells in Urine” she has sent samples off for testing but obviously i’m concerned! As you may notice i’ve posted a few other problems on here too!
I have been to the doctors today and she sent me for blood test. I have looked on internet but cant seem to find an “actual” answer.

it means you possibly have a urine/bladder infection, i dont know why she’d need to take bloods for that but obviously she does..
i remember thats what the midwifes told me when i had a bladder infection 2 weeks ago.

I had a urine test a few months ago and they said I had alot of white blood cells in my urine, but couldn’t find an infection, and sent me home. I’ve been having pain, and other symptoms so I went to the doctors today and had a pelvic done. She said she found white blood cells, but again no obvious infection. What could be going on?

I took my toddler to the DR yesterday b/c she was complaining of stomach pain. She had a UTI about 2 weeks ago and was treated with antibiotics. The DR said the white blood cells didn’t automatically mean she had an infection, and he has sent them to the lab to grow.
I tried googling – large amounts of white blood cells in urine……….but cannot really come up with anything. Is it normal? Is it a problem?

We went over ALOT in my last prenatal appointment and my doctor mentioned I had some white blood cells in my urine. He said it wasn’t a big deal, but thinking about it has me wondering what it means? Why would they be there?
