White blood cells are made in the bone marrow along with red blood cells. This is pretty much the only thing that relates them. Also, they are both considered to be the main constituents of blood along with platelets and plasma.

can a cold cause low white blood cell count?

I went to the doctor because I had a cold for the 6th time this year. Blood tests showed I had low white blood cell count and low iron levels. He wasn’t concerned and said that these results were cased by my cold and didn’t think that it needed any further investigation. I still don’t know why I keep getting colds and I am wondering if i should get a second opinion.

Hydrogen peroxide and white blood cells

In russian (новость на русском языке): “Обнаружена новая функция пероксида водорода в организме” www.membrana.ru Using the zebrafish as an animal model, researchers in the lab of Harvard Medical School professor of systems biology Timothy Mitchison and Dana Farber Cancer Institute professor Thomas Look have discovered that when the tail fins of these creatures are injured, a burst of hydrogen peroxide is released from the wound and into the surrounding tissue. Teams of rescue-working white blood cells respond to this chemical herald, crawl to the site of damage, and get to work. I would not say that mushroom has any effect at all. You need B12 and Iron.

White blood cells on cornea?

Question by ivy: White blood cells on cornea?
my eyes have been bothering me lately So i went to the eye doctors today and he said I had white blood cells “attacking” my cornea. (I don’t remember the exact medical term.) he said this happened because i didn’t change my contacts often enough. so now i can’t wear my contacts for 10 days and get another check up.

i am wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what did you do? and if you happen to know the medical term so i can look it up!thanks

Answer by Baby
It sounds like you have a corneal infiltrate. These can be sterile (not due to an infection) or they can be associated with an infection. If they have not prescribed any drops then it is likely to be sterile. Just leave your contact lenses out for a few days and they should be cleared up for your follow up appointment.

From now on, make sure you do not over-wear your contact lenses, ot the same will happen again
